Thoughtful Last Minute Gifts

If you’re still running around trying to find the perfect gift, here’s a few suggestions that I’ve found to be helpful:

  • Car Wash coupon booklet -  I don’t know about you, but we never seem to take good care of our cars and keep up on the car washing deal. Having a convenient booklet of coupons makes it so much easier.
  • Personalized address labels – Yes, it’s too late to order labels. But you can buy special holiday/winter return address labels at your local Office Max or Staples store. It’s easy to set up the matching template and run them off. I’ve found this to be an ideal gift for two friends who have recently moved to a new address.
  • Warm gloves or mittens – Okay, I admit I tend to lose gloves very easily. Surely I’m not the only one with this problem.
  • An Entertainment coupon book – Especially for your family and friends who love a good deal and are a “saving” kind of people.
  • Gift certificates to their favorite restaurant – I visit a local tearoom a lot and often receive gift cards to it – love it!

If you want to avoid the malls, sometimes you may find gifts at your local grocery store: favorite teas or coffee, food items or lovely Christmas flower arrangements.

Announcing the winner of “Christmas Gifts” book: Emily Reynolds!  Please send me your address and I’ll get this book out to you.

Next week’s Christmas giveaway: the dvd “Christmas Comes Home to Canaan.” To enter, please leave a comment here with a last minute gift suggestion. But hurry, we’re running out of time!

  2. Actually I just made a gift card in my Microsoft Publishing software that states I sent money to my sister’s PayPal address for them to trial a membership for their whole family to a site they have been wanting to try. This could be for anything that accepts PayPal payments! Last minute gift just before I head out the door to their place! So fun to GIVE!!

  9. I like making things, so how about a small set of Christmas ornaments? You could do it out of paper or fabric, knit or crochet, beads … possibilities are endless and if you have kids, it’s great to have them make it. =)

  10. I love these ideas. I had to come up with my own last night and I used some of my photography and homemade goodies in a nice gift bag. Fun things!

  11. Hand warmers and those instant heat wraps. We usually have lots of snow to shovel and these come in handy!

  12. Merry,
Totally understand about the snow as we get plenty around here! Good and useful gift.

  14. I think a wonderful last minute gift would be an hour gift card for a massage. People are so stressed from their hectic time of getting ready for Christmas, they are ready to crash. How wonderful would a long massage be? Just think about it. I could use one right now. LOL I would love to have this DVD. Thanks, Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com

  15. Depending on the person, I often give a new devotional and a mug with hot chocolate packets inserted in them. I’ve also created jars of bath salts and sugar scrubs in an instant. I keep canning jars on hand at all times and I have lots of recipes and essential oils on hand to mix up some nice bath salts. I also keep vanilla beans on hand and coconut oil (liquified). I use that to make sugar scrubs in addition to other ingredients. :) KellysShining(at)gmail(dot)com

  18. Make each family member a “Personal Notes” book. Write down what you love best about each person. It may be as simple as their smile or as deep as how you love their big heart and why. Make it personal!
